ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team was back in action on Friday at home, falling in three sets to 23rd-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.
Final game scores were 25-17, 25-13, and 27-25.
After a back-and-forth rally early in the first set, the Bison (16-3, 9-2 GAC) pulled away with six straight points to go up 17-9. Ouachita (7-16, 2-8 GAC) rallied back to within five, but the Bison answered with four straight points to take the early lead in the match.
It was all Oklahoma Baptist in the second set, which included a late 8-0 run. The Bison hit .417 in the set with only one error on 24 attempts.
The Tigers roared back in the third set and led 10-5 before the Bison made a run. Ouachita rallied to set point at 25-24 before the Bison closed out the match with the final three points.
Individual leaders for the Tigers included Kayla Steinmeyer in kills (8), Kellen Church in assists (12), and Lexie Castillow in digs (13).
Ouachita is back in action on Saturday at home against Southern Nazarene. First serve is set for 4 p.m. at the Sturgis Center.
