EDMOND, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University women's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships this past weekend in central Oklahoma.
TOP SINGLES PERFORMANCES
- Ali May won four matches on her way to claiming the championship of her consolation bracket. She had wins over Washburn's Sydnee Foster (8-2), her own teammate Clarisa Valenzuela (8-2), Harding's Ashlyn Nilsson and Southeastern Oklahoma State's Rhythmn Aswal (9-8) in the finals.
- Taylor Hansard advanced to the third round of her bracket with a win over Missouri Western State's Alyssa Owens by scores of 7-5 and 7-5.
- Shelly Davilus got an opening round win in her bracket over Fort Hays State's Kylie Aufdengarten by scores of 6-2, 2-6, and 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
In doubles, the top performance for the Tigers was
Austynn Crocker and
Clarisa Valenzuela winning their opening round matchup 8-5 over a duo from Fort Hays State.
The Tigers wrap up the Fall portion of the schedule October 29-30 on the road against John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
