ARKADELPHIA – Following the second loss of the 2021 season this past Saturday, the Ouachita Baptist University football team has taken a tumble in the national and regional rankings heading into the final week of the regular season.
Most notably, the Tigers (8-2) fell three spots to No. 10 in this week's NCAA Division II Super Region Three poll. The top seven advance to the playoffs, which begin November 20.
In the national rankings, Ouachita dropped from No. 5 to No. 20 in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, and fell from No. 6 to No. 16 this week in the D2Football.com Top 25.
The Tigers have a chance to climb back into playoff consideration this Saturday in the 94th edition of the historic Battle of the Ravine, the oldest and most unique rivlary in the NCAA Division II. The Tigers host Henderson State Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cliff Harris Stadium.
