THE LEAD
Ouachita Baptist struck first Saturday but No. 16 Southern Arkansas scored the game's next eight runs en route to a 16-4 win. The Muleriders collected a season-high 18 hits in the game.
The Tigers scored the game's first run in the bottom of the first inning, when
Louis Steen crossed the plate following a wild pitch. Southern Arkansas would answer with three runs in the second, two in the third and three more in the fourth.
Ouachita took advantage of a two-run error and an RBI single by
CW Schrader to plate three runs in the fifth. That was all the offense the Tigers could manage on the afternoon.
