Ouachita Baptist softball put up a season-high 17 runs in the rubber game of its weekend series at Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday. The Tigers collected 18 hits in a 17-6 mercy rule victory.
Jillian Jones' RBI single in the top of the first got the Tigers on the board. An unearned run extended the lead in the top of the second before the Bison picked up two in the bottom of the inning.
A six-run third inning distanced the Tigers from the Bison.
Kyndal Moyer walked with the bases loaded, followed by a
Hope Waid RBI single.
Heather Brown drove in two with a double to left, as Waid scored on the throw. Brown came around to score on a wild pitch.
Oklahoma Baptist scored four runs over the third and fourth innings. The Tigers locked up the win with a nine-run sixth inning.
Moyer's second bases-loaded walk drove in the first run of the sixth. After a passed ball led to another Ouachita run, Waid doubled home two runs. Jones was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and
Lauren Lester walked with the bases full.
Callie Jourdan added an RBI single to left. A two-run double by Moyer capped the scoring for the Tigers.
