THE RUNDOWN

Ouachita Baptist softball loaded the bases to put the go-ahead run at first base in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday against the top-ranked team in the country, but No. 1 Southern Arkansas escaped with a 2-0 victory. Madison Miller limited the Muleriders to one earned run in 7.0 innings as she fell to 4-3 on the season.

SAU scored a run in the first and an unearned run in the seventh to account for all the scoring in the game. 

Miller led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center. After Callie Jourdan reached on a fielder's choice, Lauren Lester singled to left. With two out, Kyndal Moyer singled to center to load the bases, but Hope Waid's popout to third ended the Tigers' threat.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

- Friday's game was the smallest margin of victory for SAU this season
- The Muleriders improved to 4-1 on the year and 26-3 over the last two seasons
