THE RUNDOWN
Ouachita Baptist softball loaded the bases to put the go-ahead run at first base in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday against the top-ranked team in the country, but No. 1 Southern Arkansas escaped with a 2-0 victory.
Madison Miller limited the Muleriders to one earned run in 7.0 innings as she fell to 4-3 on the season.
SAU scored a run in the first and an unearned run in the seventh to account for all the scoring in the game.Â
Miller led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center. After
Callie Jourdan reached on a fielder's choice,
Lauren Lester singled to left. With two out,
Kyndal Moyer singled to center to load the bases, but
Hope Waid's popout to third ended the Tigers' threat.
