Ouachita Baptist softball defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State 15-5 in the first game of a doubleheader Friday in Alva, Oklahoma. The Tigers scored seven runs in the third and five runs in the fifth to invoke the mercy rule and win in five innings.Â
After the Rangers went ahead with a three-run second inning, the Tigers took advantage of three hit batters and two errors to score seven runs in the third. Ouachita's first two runs came on an error.
Callie Jourdan drove in two more with a single, followed by an RBI single by
Madison Miller.
Kyndal Moyer doubled home two more runs to cap the seven-run rally.Â
The Rangers scored two more in the fourth, but Ouachita responded with an eight-run fifth.
Hope Waid's RBI groundout got the scoring started.
Heather Brown's single drove in a run Moyer.
Jillian Jones drove in three with a home run to left field. Moyer added a two-run single, and Waid added an RBI single to bring the Tigers' total to 15 runs.
Miller earned the win on the mound, allowing five runs - two earned - on seven hits through 5.0 innings.
