THE RUNDOWN
Ouachita Baptist softball outhit Southeastern Oklahoma State and allowed just one run, but the Savage Storm won 1-0 in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday in Durant, Oklahoma.
Nikki Schneider provided further evidence against the value of a pitcher's win/loss record, allowing just one run on three hits in 6.0 innings in the loss.
Southeastern scored the game's only run on a third-inning home run by Jaleigh Durst. Outside of that, Schneider allowed three singles to Gracie Ore and no other baserunners. The freshman from Glen Rose, Arkansas, finished with one strikeout and no walks in the loss.Â
The Tigers' best chance to score came in the fourth inning. Back-to-back singles by
Jillian Jones and
Callie Jourdan and a passed ball put runners at second and third with one out.
Kirsten Shaw's bunt could not plate a runner, and
Madison Miller grounded out to end the threat.
Sloane Precure singled and reached third with two out in the sixth but was left stranded there.Â
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
 - Schneider lowered her season earned run average to 2.15
