Arkansas Tech took Game 1 of a doubleheader from Ouachita Baptist on Friday at Chartwells Women's Sports Complex by a score of 4-1. Heather Brown collected four hits in a losing effort for the Tigers.

The Golden Suns opened the scoring with a run in the second inning. They added two in the third and one in the fourth to build a 4-0 lead.

Tally Turnbow's RBI double plated Jillian Jones in the bottom of the sixth to close the gap, but that was the only run Ouachita would manage. 

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

- Brown, Jones and Hope Waid combined for eight of Ouachita's nine hits.
- Nikki Schneider took the loss, throwing six innings with four runs allowed
- Brown's four hits were a season high
