THE RUNDOWN
Ouachita Baptist baseball finished off a three-game sweep at East Central with an 8-2 victory Saturday at Ken Turner Field.
CW Schrader collected three hits, and
Jaxon Chaney drove in three runs in the victory.Â
The visiting Tigers took the lead in the second inning on
Simmons Sowell's RBI infield hit. An RBI double by Schrader and a
Cole Kelly RBI single padded the lead with two more runs in the third. The home squad scratched across a run in the fifth, but
Cade Burris' two-run fifth-inning single extended the Ouachita advantage.Â
ECU got a run back with a seventh-inning single. Chaney's bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth put the game out of reach.Â
Beau Burson earned the win on the mound, throwing 6.0 innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts and two walks while scattering five hits.Â
