THE RUNDOWN
Henderson State took the first of a three-game series at Rab Rodgers Field from Ouachita Baptist on Friday by a score of 10-3.
Tyler Riebock and
CW Schrader each recorded two hits in a losing effort for the Tigers.
Ouachita took the game's first lead, manufacturing a run in the bottom of the second.
Jaxon Chaney led off with a walk and advanced to second on
Pierce Mitchum's sacrifice bunt. Chaney took third when
Blake Tubbs flied out to right and scored on Riebock's RBI single.Â
The Reddies answered with three runs in the third and three more in the fourth. Mitchum's two-run double in the bottom of the fourth plated Chaney and
Simmons Sowell, but that was the end of the Tigers' offensive output.Â
Henderson added three runs in the seventh and another in the eighth to increase their lead. The Tigers threatened in the bottom of the seventh, putting runners at second and third with one out and loading the bases with two down, but stranded the bases loaded.
