Ouachita Baptist took the lead after allowing an early run, but Southern Nazarene scored eight of the game's final nine runs in a 9-4 win in the first of a three-game series at Sully Anderson Field on Friday.
Madison Miller homered yet again in a losing effort.
The Crimson Storm struck first with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. The Tigers tied the game in the second after
Kirsten Shaw led off with a double and scored on
Kyndal Moyer's RBI groundout. Â Miller put the Tigers in the lead in the third inning with a two-run home run to left center.
SNU's second solo shot of the game cut the lead to one run in the fourth inning. The visitors regained the lead on a fifth-inning grand slam.
Callie Jourdan led off the bottom of the fifth with an infield single and scored on
Lauren Lester's two-out single, but that was the last run the Tigers would score. SNU scored three more times in the sixth to put the game out of reach. A
Jillian Jones single in the seventh inning was the only hit Ouachita recorded in the final two innings.
