Ouachita Baptist recovered from a series-opening loss to Southern Nazarene on Friday with a 5-2 win at Sully Anderson Field to tie the series in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.
Hope Waid recorded three hits, and
Lauren Lester drove in two runs in the victory.Â
The Tigers took the lead in the first inning, as
Sloane Precure singled home Waid with the game's first run. Waid scored again in the third on
Heather Brown's RBI groundout.Â
Waid scored her third run of the game on
Jillian Jones' infield single in the fifth inning. Lester drove in two more with a single to left field that chased home Brown and
Sarah Tuller.Â
Madison Miller held SNU off the scoreboard until the seventh inning, when an error led to a pair of unearned runs. She finished the game with seven innings pitched, five strikeouts, three walks and two unearned runs allowed on five hits, earning the win.
