THE RUNDOWN
Ouachita Baptist softball held Henderson State to one run but could not push across any of their own in a 1-0 loss at Sully Anderson Field on Tuesday. The Tigers outhit the Reddies, but back-to-back doubles in the second inning gave the visitors their lone run.Â
Outside of those doubles to lead off the second,
Nikki Schneider held the Reddies to a pair of singles in 7.0 innings of work. The Glen Rose, Arkansas, native struck out four batters while walking three.Â
Ouachita's best chances to score came in the fifth and sixth.
Kirsten Shaw and
Madison Miller reached on back-to-back singles with one out in the fifth. A fly ball and a fielder's choice put down that Tiger threat.
Sloane Precure and
Jillian Jones recorded back-to-back one-out base knocks in the sixth, but a double play ended that rally.
