Tigers Outlast Late Reddie Rally

THE RUNDOWN

Henderson State moved the potential tying run into scoring position in the seventh and final inning in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, but Ouachita Baptist emerged victorious at Rab Rodgers Field. Beau Burson earned the win on the mound with 6.2 innings of one-run ball.

The Tigers struck first with a pair of runs in the third inning. CW Schrader's RBI single drove home Tyler Riebock with the game's first run. Jaxon Chaney followed with a base hit that sent Cade Burris across the plate.

Burris drove in an insurance run in the fourth with a bases-loaded walk.

Burson limited Henderson to four hits - all singles - in the first five innings before two singles and a walk led to a Reddie run. Ben Miller entered the game with two outs and a two-run lead with runners at first and third. A passed ball moved the potential tying run to second, but a six-pitch at-bat ended with a weak grounder back to Miller that ended the game.
