COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
No. 13 Ouachita Baptist football makes its return to Cliff Harris Stadium on Thursday as it hosts Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. The Tigers enter the game having won three straight Great American Conference titles and 27 consecutive conference games. Ouachita has won five of the GAC's nine championships and its 72 wins in GAC play since the league's inception in 2011 are tied for the most with Harding.
TIGER STORYLINES
- The Tigers are ranked No. 13 in the D2Football.com preseason poll and No. 14 in the AFCA preseason poll.
- Ouachita returns five All-GAC performers from the 2019 season, including right tackle Anthony Chairez (1st), defensive end Dameyun McDonald (1st), kicker Gabe Goodman (H.M.), linebacker Austin Guymon (H.M.), and tight end Hunter Swoboda (H.M.)
- Junior TJ Cole enters the season as the only Tiger on the roster with more than eight career carries and the only running back with a collegiate touch to his name. Joining him in the backfield are covid freshmen Isaac Edwards, Xaylon Falls, and Kendel Givens.
- In the Great American Conference preseason coaches poll, Ouachita was projected to finish first in the league. The Tigers garnered seven of the 12 first-place votes, receiving 116 points in the poll.
SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
- The Bison are projected to finish fourth in the GAC, according to the conference's preseason coaches poll
- 2019 GAC Offensive Player of the Year Preston Haire is back with the Bison after leading the league in passing yards (3,041) and touchdown passes (26)
- Oklahoma Baptist allowed the second-most points per game in the GAC in 2019 at 33.1
- Leading receiver Josh Cornell (1.054 yards) returns to catch passes from Haire after finishing second in the conference in receiving yards in 2019

The Tigers are 8-1-1 all-time against the Bison, dating back to 1936. Ouachita has won the last eight contests dating back to 1938.
