OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Ouachita Baptist University women's tennis team competed this past weekend at the Oklahoma City Invitational.
Olivia Gaston won her singles opening round matchup, 6-3 and 7-6, over Lina Brandt of Weatherford College. Gaston then dropped her quarterfinal matchup to Midwestern State's Emi Visic by scores of 6-2 and 6-4.
Austyn Crocker gave her opponent a tough match in her flight, losing the first game 6-2, but fighting back with a 7-5 setback in the second.
Taylor Hansard made it to the semifinal round of her consolation flight, beating Seward's Saskia Vogelzang in the first round 6-3 and 6-1, before eventually losing to Northeastern State's Belinda Jayaprakash 6-4, 5-7, and 3-10.
Carla Gallart Polo also had tough loss in her opening round singles flight, winning the first game 7-6, losing the second 6-4, and then dropping the third in an extended game 10-7.
The Tigers are back in action September 24-25 at the Great American Conference individual championships in Russellville.
