ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University men's basketball team cut its deficit down to four points with six minutes remaining, but a late surge from Oklahoma Baptist left the Bison with a 77-71 win over the Tigers on Tuesday night inside Bill Vining Arena.

Ma'Darius Hobson made a pair of free throws to trim the Bison lead down to four with 6:06 remaining. The Bison led by double-digits just three minutes prior.

In the final five minutes of the game, the Bison had fewer opportunities to score, but took advantage of those possessions, going 5-for-8 from the field, while the Tigers were 4-for-12, including 3-for-7 on three-pointers down the stretch.

Overall for the game, the Tigers (3-10, 1-6 GAC) shot 45 percent from the field (27-for-60), 32 percent on three-pointers (7-for-22), and 77 percent on foul shots (10-for-13). Individually, Hobson led the Tigers with 18 points and 13 rebounds, his first double-double of the season. Leon Kalinic added 13 points in 20 points off the bench.

Tuesday night's game began a stretch of five straight games in Arkadelphia for the Tigers, who are set to make the short trip across the street on Thursday night to face off against GAC rival Henderson State.
