ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University men's basketball team was held to just five points in the final seven minutes resulting in a 59-56 loss to cross-street rival Henderson State on Thursday across the street at the Duke Wells Center.
The Tigers (3-11, 1-7 GAC) erased a seven-point deficit in the span of three minutes and took a one-point lead of 51-50 with 7:26 remaining. From that point, Ouachita went cold, shooting 1-for-7 from the field and tallying five turnovers during that span.
Neither offense found much success down the stretch. The Reddies (9-5, 5-3 GAC) only managed seven points in the final seven minutes.
As a team, Ouachita shot 34 percent from the field (19-for-56), 25 percent on three-pointers (6-for-24), and 71 percent on foul shots (12-for-17).
Tylar Haynes led the Tigers with 14 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
Ma'Darius Hobson added 12 points and seven rebounds.
