ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University men's and women's swimming and diving teams concluded the regular season on Friday night at home with a split against cross-street rival Henderson State.

The Ouachita women won 118-112 for the team's sixth straight win over the Red Wave. The HSU men won 129-107.

"The COVID bug got us a bit as we were missing a few, but I'm still very proud of our effort," said Head Coach Steven Bostick. "This senior class is very special to me. They work hard and race harder. To create an environment that is centered around Christ, academics, and then athletics is something I'm so grateful for.  It's easy to get emotional when you look back at all these young men and women have done for our program."

Ouachita's seniors that were honored on Friday night were Lilia Clark, Sydney Parker, Rachel Sansano, Elysian Majeske, Keith Mathews, Nolan Gerfers, and Jack Conner.

Event wins for the Tigersharks on Friday night vs HSU included

• Men 400 medley relay – Noah Smith, Miles Schulze, Elijah Christenson, Angel Medina
• Women 1,000 freestyle – Kate McCown
• Men 1,000 freestyle – Jeff McCoy
• Women 50 freestyle – Lilia Clark
• Men 200 individual medley – Noah Smith (Ouachita swept the podium with Tristan Richert and Bennett Bibza in second and third place)
• Men 200 butterfly – Elijah Christenson
• Women 200 backstroke – Kaitlyn Montgomery
• Women 500 freestyle – Kate McCown
• Men 200 breaststroke – Miles Schulze (Ouachita swept the podium with Barrett Troup and Angel Medina in second and third place)
• Women 1 meter diving – Skye Hoover
• Women 3 meter diving – Skye Hoover

Ouachita is now set for the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships hosted by Delta State University February 16-19 in Cleveland, Mississippi.
