ALVA, Oklahoma – After going to halftime all tied up, Northwestern Oklahoma State outscored the Ouachita Baptist University men's basketball team by 16 in the second half to beat the Tigers by a final score of 83-67
It was 37-all at halftime with Ouachita (3-9, 1-5 GAC) leading by as much as six points with four minutes remaining in the opening 20 minutes.
The Rangers (9-4, 4-3 GAC) used a 16-0 run early in the second half to get on top by double-digits, and later went up by 20 with seven minutes remaining in regulation.
Ouachita climbed back to within 13 points four minutes later following a 10-0 run of its own.
Tylar Haynes led the Tigers with 13 points, seven of which coming at the free-throw line, where he was 7-for-8. T'vondrick Henry had 12 points. Ma'Darius Hobson ended up with 11 points and a team-high five rebounds.
The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, January 11 at home in a makeup game against Oklahoma Baptist, originally scheduled for New Year's Day. Tuesday's tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena.
