WEATHERFORD, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team turned in its first tie of the 2022 season on Saturday in a scoreless draw on the road against Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The zeros in the score portions of the scoreboard did not match the pace of the game, which featured 23 shots by SWOSU (2-4-4, 2-0-2 GAC) and 16 shots by Ouachita (6-4-1, 3-1-1 GAC). The Bulldogs also led in shots on goal by a final margin of 13-8.
The 13 shots on goal and no goals allowed meant a busy game for Ouachita goalkeeper
Michele Snow, who came up with a season-high 13 saves. It was her fifth career game with double-digits in the save category. Her 13th save of the game came at a crucial time as SWOSU fired a shot to the top right of goal with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation, but Snow was there to help Ouachita avoid a last-second loss.
Jaymee Dotson and
Josilyn Kispert each had two shots on goal in the game.
Sydni Perry,
Abbey Moore,
Amerie Thomas, and
Hayley Wolfe accounted for the remaining shots on goal.
The Tigers are back at home next weekend, hosting East Central on Sunday, October 9 for a noon game at Kluck Field.
