ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team came away with its second draw of the season against Southwestern Oklahoma State University in a 1-1 affair on Thursday at Kluck Field.
SWOSU (5-4-6, 5-0-4 GAC) holds on to first place in the Great American Conference standings by just one point. Ouachita (8-4-3, 5-1-3 GAC) and Oklahoma Baptist (6-7-3, 5-2-3 GAC) are tied for second place heading into the final three games of the regular season.
Thursday's game featured two of the best defensive teams in the conference, and with that came limited shot opportunity. SWOSU ended up with a 16-13 edge in total shots. Both teams were limited to just three shots on goal.
Ouachita opened the scoring in the 34th minute on a goal by freshman 
Paige Owens, who was able to work around the SWOSU goalkeeper for her second goal of the season. 
Josilyn Kispert earned the assist on the score, her third assist of the year.
SWOSU struck early in the second half with an equalizer goal in the 50th minute.
The Tigers are back at home on Saturday to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kluck Field.
