TALEQUAH, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University men's soccer team took on the 22nd-ranked Riverhawks of Northeastern State University on Thursday night, resulting in a 3-0 loss.
The Riverhawks (6-2-2, 4-1-1 GAC/MIAA) were stingy with the ball, especially near their own goal, where they only allowed Ouachita two total shots and held the Tigers (1-9-2, 1-5 GAC/MIAA) without a shot on goal throughout the entire game.
After giving up three first half goals, the Tigers defense stepped up and held the Riverhawks scoreless in the second half. NSU scored its goals in the 12th, 37th, and 40th minutes of the first half.
The Tigers shots came from
CJ Washington, missed the right, in the final minute of the first half, and
Eli Stuart, just over the bar, in the 63rd minute.
Ouachita is back in action on Saturday on the road against Harding. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. in Searcy.
