Ouachita Volleyball bounced back at home and won the Battle of the Tigers, taking down East Central 3-1.
The set scores were 24-26, 25-19, 25-14 and 25-17
This win marked the 60
th of Coach
Allison Frizzell-Kizer's career at Ouachita. Coach Friz reached the 50-win milestone earlier this season in the opener against Lemoyne-Owen.
The offense was led by
Riley Braziel who racked up a career-high 21 kills on a .333 hitting percentage.
Emily Adams was next with 11 kills, followed by
Kayla Steinmeyer with 10.
Ouachita out-hit East Central .294 to .164 and recorded nine aces to ECU's one. Four Ouachita Tigers accounted for two aces apiece.
Braziel also led in points with 24. Three other Tigers earned double-digit points:
Emily Adams (12),
Kayla Steinmeyer (10.5) and
Courtney Hanson (10).
Courtney Hanson was once again the assist leader tonight, recording 41; her eighth 40-plus assist outing this season.
Defensively, Ouachita was led in blocks by
Karli Ferguson with five.
Haley Fairchild was next with three.
Lexie Castillow was the leader in digs with 16.
Joni Schneider was next with 11 and
Avery Jauz recorded 10.
