ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita Baptist University Men's Basketball team dropped its game against the Southern Arkansas Muleriders by a score of 89-67.
Ouachita (3-4, 1-2 GAC) started the game off strong, leading from the first basket until the six-minute mark when the game would be tied for the first time since the first minute of the game. The Tigers would take back the lead for the final time on a mid-range jumper from
Ma'Darius Hobson with 5:43 left to go in the half. The Muleriders (5-3, 2-1 GAC) would retake the lead and keep it for the rest of the game.
The second half would be all Muleriders, who shot 58.6 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from beyond the arch. The hot shooting would prove to be too much for the Tigers. Despite Ouachita chipping away at the lead in the final minutes, including an 11-0 run from the Tigers, SAU would maintain a lead until the final buzzer.
Leading the way for the Tigers was
LaQuan Butler Jr. with 17 points, followed by
Ma'Darius Hobson with 10 of his own.
The Tigers will look to bounce back next Saturday, December 17, 2022 on the road against Arkansas-Monticello.
