ARKADELPHIA – Due to the forecasted wintry mix in north and central Arkansas, this weekend's sports schedule has been altered to accommodate for safe travels.
This weekend's Ronnie Hawkins/Mike McGhee Memorial Softball Invitational has been pushed back a day, and will now be played Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, February 5-7 in Arkadelphia. There will be nine teams in town to play a combined 20 games between Ouachita's Sully Anderson Field and Henderson State's Dee White Field. The Tigers play two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday.
Ouachita baseball is still participating in the Dugan Collegiate Baseball Invitational, but will now be hosting two games at home at Rab Rogers Field. The Tigers will not be playing on Thursday or Friday, but instead will host Northeastern State and Northwest Missouri State on Saturday, February 5 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. The Tigers will have Sunday off, and then close out to the invitational on Monday in Hot Springs against Rogers State at 4 p.m.
The Ouachita men's and women's tennis schedules have also been changed. The women's match on the road against Christian Brothers, originally scheduled for this Friday, has been postponed. A new date is to be determined. The men will now play Delta State on Friday at 5 p.m. at home, and then take on Southwest Baptist on Saturday, also at 5 p.m.
No changes have been made to the men's and women's basketball schedule. The Tigers host Henderson State on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, before traveling to Searcy to take on Harding this Saturday at the same times.
