SEARCY, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team opened Great American Conference play on Thursday with a 2-0 road win over Harding University.
The win is Ouachita's fourth of the season and first win by shutout.
Michele Snow went the distance in goal for the Tigers with five saves on Harding's 17 total shots and seven shots on goal.
Jamie Fowler scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the fourth minute to start the scoring from the assist of
Gracen Turner. It was Fowler's 13th career goal and ties her season high of four goals scored in 2021. For Turner, it was her first point of the season, and her eighth career assist.
Paige Owens was responsible for the final score of the game with a goal coming in the 34th minute off a long pass from
Ashton Inman. It was Owens' first career goal and Inman's first career assist.
Ouachita held a slight advantage in shots at 19-17, but a bigger lead in shots on goal at 15-7.
The Tigers are back in action next Thursday, September 22 at home against Oklahoma Baptist. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kluck Field.
