ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team responded from its loss on Thursday with a 2-1 win over Southern Nazarene on Saturday at home.
Ouachita has now won three of its last four to move the team to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in Great American Conference games.
Ouachita controlled possession for 65 percent of the game, resulting in a 33-8 lead in total shots taken and an 8-3 lead in shots on goal.
Abbey Inman started the scoring in the 15th minute on Saturday, getting the rebound on a shot taken by teammate
Jaymee Dotson that the SNU goalkeeper was able to stop from going in. It was Inman's first goal of the season and the second of her career.
The Crimson Storm scored an equalizer late in the first half to create a 1-1 tie at the halftime break.
Jaymee Dotson picked up her team-high fifth goal of the season to give the Tigers what ended up being the game-winner, this time on a free kick from just outside the box. It was the fourth goal in the last five games for the senior from Princeton, Texas. She now has 25 career goals, moving her to fourth all-time at Ouachita.
The Tigers hit the road next week to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday and Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday.
