ALVA, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team opened its weekend trip to the western boundary of the Great American Conference with a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday evening.
Gracen Turner scored her first goal of the 2022 season in the 28th minute to open the scoring. It was her 10th career goal and the only goal of the first half to give the Tigers (6-4, 3-1 GAC) a 1-0 lead at the halftime break.
Josilyn Kispert earned the assist for that goal, her first points of the season.
To open the second-half scoring,
Fernanda Valencia found the net in the 68th minute from the assists of
Abbey Inman and
Jaymee Dotson. It was Valencia's second goal of the year, Inman's first career assist, and Dotson's first assist of the year (15th of her career).
The Rangers (4-4-1, 1-2 GAC) cut the deficit in half in the 78th minute with their only goal of the game.
Ouachita added a cushion goal with the final score of the game coming in the 85th minute off the foot of
Ashton Inman from the assists of Turner and Kispert. It was Inman's second goal of the season, Turner's second assist of the year, and Kispert's second assist of the game and fourth of her career.
The Tigers stay in the region to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. in Weatherford.
