ADA, Oklahoma – The Ouachita volleyball dropped its match against the Tigers of East Central university by a score of 3-1 Thursday night.
Ouachita came out hot, starting the match with a 4-0 lead. East Central tied it at 5-5, but a 5-0 run gave Ouachita another lead. The Tigers in purple held onto this lead for the remainder of the set, ending it with a 6-1 run to win 25-19.
The next three sets each started close, but East Central used timely runs to win sets two, three and four by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-19 respectively and take the victory in the match 3-1.
Haley Fairchild led the Ouachita front with nine kills, a .316 hitting percentage, and four blocks.
Courtney Hanson led Ouachita setters with 28 assists.
Avery Jauz led the purple Tiger defense with 16 digs.
Riley Braziel was next with 10 digs. Braziel also recorded five service aces on the night.
Ouachita will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State at 4 p.m. in Durant, Oklahoma.
