CLAREMORE, Oklahoma – The Ouachita men's soccer team opened its weekend trip to Oklahoma with a 4-1 loss to 25th-ranked Rogers State on Thursday.
The Hillcats (6-2-2, 3-1-0 GAC/MIAA) and Tigers (0-7-3, 0-2-2) were scoreless at the halftime break before RSU came out firing in the second half with goals in the 54th, 62nd, and 64th minutes, respectively.
Ouachita found the net in the 73rd minute on
CJ Washington's first goal of the season, assisted by
Inza Coulibaly. It was Washington's second career goal.
RSU found the net again in the 84th minute to finalize the scoring. The Hillcats held a 25-11 advantage in total shots, a 13-3 margin in shots on frame, and an 8-1 lead in corner kicks.
Despite allowing four goals,
Masaya Nitta recorded a career-high eight saves in a complete-game effort.
The Tigers head to Bethany, Oklahoma on Saturday to face off against Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. immediately following the Ouachita-SNU women's game.
