BETHANY, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's soccer team bounced back from its loss on Thursday with a 2-0 road win over Southern Nazarene on Saturday.
The Tigers scored both of their goals in the first half, although the second goal came in the final minute of the half on a shot by
Fernanda Valencia assisted by
Sydni Perry. It was Valencia's second goal of the season and the sixth of her Ouachita career. It was Perry's third assist of the year and 12th of her career.
Ouachita opened the scoring in the 39th minute on a goal from
Isabella Savattere, the second time finding the net during her freshman campaign.
Michele Snow earned her fifth shutout of the season and 21st of her career. She had three saves in the win.
The Tigers ended up with a 12-6 advantage in total shots and a slim 4-3 edge in shots on frame.
Ouachita improves to 6-1-4 overall and 3-1-1 in Great American Conference games to put the team in a tie for first place in the league four weeks remaining. Next up is a road game against Harding next Wednesday, October 11 in Searcy. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
