EDMOND, Oklahoma – The Ouachita men's swimming and diving team placed second at the 2023 Eagle Invite hosted by Oklahoma Christian over the weekend.
 
The Tigersharks came in second out of the total of seven teams competing in the three-day invitational. Ouachita racked up 948 points on the weekend, narrowly behind first-place OCU with 976 points.
 
The men won one event as Elijah Christenson won the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:48.83. Christenson also took third in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 49.78.
 
Other top finishing Tigersharks were:

• Miles Schulze took second in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 54.31. Miles also took second in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:00.10.
• Sam Ragsdell placed second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 45.44.
• Jeff McCoy took second in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:49.14. McCoy also placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.92. and finished fourth in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:40.45.
• The 400 Medley Relay squad of Jeff McCoy, Miles Schulze, Tyler Andruss and Sam Ragsdell placed third in the event with a time of 3:20.40.
• Ethan Sparks took fourth in 200 IM with a time of 1:52.80. Sparks also placed fourth in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 50.29.
• The 200 Medley Relay squad of Barrett Troup, Miles Schulze, Elijah Christenson and Alex Schulze placed fourth in the event with a time of 1:31.28.
• The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Alex Schulze, Sam Ragsdell, Miles Schulze and Fernando Bustillo finished fourth in the event with a time of 1:23.85.
• The 400 Freestyle Relay squad of Ethan Sparks, Ian Redman, Jeff McCoy and Fernando Bustillo placed fourth in the event with a time of 3:03.55.

 
Next up, the Tigersharks will head to Kirksville, Missouri to take on Truman State University on Saturday, December 2.
