CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Ouachita men's basketball team dropped its road game at Delta State University Saturday night.
Ouachita (1-3) came out even with Delta State (2-1), trading shots with the Statesmen over the first five minutes of the contest. However, DSU began to heat up and the Tigers grew cold on offense, letting Delta State take control of the game and hold a 50-27 lead at the halftime break.
The Tigers warmed back up in the second half, shooting 55 percent from the field, including 40 percent from three-point range, and outscoring the Statesmen 41-35. But DSU's lead from the first half was too much for the Tigers to overcome as they fell by the final score of 85-68.
Leading the Tigers was
Terran Williams with 19 points.
Emorie Knox was next with 16 points, followed by
Tylar Haynes with 14. Haynes led in steals with three and tied with
Reggie Martin for the team lead in rebounds with seven each.
The Tigers will look to bounce back as they host the Millers of John Melvin University in an exhibition game on Tuesday, November 21 at 4 p.m. in Bill Vining Arena.
