SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – The Great American Conference has selected 10 Ouachita women's soccer players to its 2023 all-conference team, and Tiger head coach Kevin Wright has been voted as the league's coach of the year.

The all-conference teams and special awards were announced on Wednesday on the eve of the GAC championship tournament, which gets underway Thursday on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University.

Ouachita's first team all-conference selections for 2023 are forward Jamie Fowler, defender Abbey Inman, defender Abbey Moore, and goalkeeper Michele Snow.

Fowler, a graduate student from Mesquite, Texas, scored a team-best six goals during the regular season, which is third in the GAC. She is now a four-time All-GAC selection and a two-time first team pick.

Inman, a junior from Bryant, and Moore, a junior from Maumelle, played and started all 18 games during the regular season on the back row, and helped the Tigers lead the league in goals allowed. Ouachita has given up just 12 goals this season and is the only team to have a goals against average below one. This is Inman's second All-GAC selection and first time to earn first team honors. Moore is now a two-time first team All-GAC honoree.

Snow, a senior from North Richland Hills, Texas is now a four-time All-GAC selection and two-time first team pick. She currently leads the GAC in goals against average (.619) and shutouts (nine).

True freshmen Hattie Gardner and Teagan Jaussi were selected to the All-GAC second team. Gardner, from Denison, Texas, has scored two goals and tallied two assists in her freshman campaign. Jaussi, from Frisco, Texas, has held down the midfield for the Tigers this season and made 15 starts during her freshman campaign.

Ouachita's honorable mention selections include; Gracen Turner, a graduate student from Cabot; Sydni Perry, a senior from McKinney, Texas; Allison Reece, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas; and Amerie Thomas, a sophomore from Waco, Texas. This is Turner's fifth All-GAC selection. Perry is now a two-time honoree.

Kevin Wright is now a two-time GAC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year. This season, Wright has led the Tigers to their sixth consecutive winning season and ninth top three finish in the league since he took over the program in 2012.

In addition to athletic awards, the GAC also presented its scholar athlete awards. For Ouachita, Abbey Moore and Ashlyn Vana earned the league's Elite Scholar Athlete award, which is given to participating athletes that have a perfect 4.0 grade point average and are nearing graduation. Sisters Ashton Inman and Abbey Inman earned the league's Distinguished Scholar Athlete award, which is given to participating athletes that are nearing graduation with at least a 3.7 GPA.

The Tigers begin the 2023 postseason Thursday in the semifinals of the GAC tournament against Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. in Shawnee.
