ARKADELPHIA – A pool record was set as the Ouachita Women's swimming and diving team edged past the Truman State Bulldogs by a score of 117-112.
The 400 Medley Relay squad of
Jameson Tankersley,
Keilee Holcomb,
Rachel Del Angel, and
Didi Christenson won the event and broke the Waggoner Pool record that was previously set in 2021 by the squad of Montgomery, Clark, Parker, and Henderson.
The Tigersharks won a total of five events against the Bulldogs.
Abigail Conard won 1-Meter Diving with a score of 235.95. Conard also won 3-Meter Diving with a score of 208.80.
Keilee Holcomb won the 200 Free with a time of 1:54.46. Holcomb also placed second in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:09.03, just 0.12 seconds out of first place.
Anna Phelps won the 400 IM by nearly four seconds with a time of 4:39.72. Phelps also won the 200 Butterfly by almost five seconds with a time of 2:07.90.
Other top Tigershark finishers were:
- Didi Christenson placed second in the 50 Free with a time of 24.33. Christenson also took second in the 100 Free with a time of 53.84.
- Rachel Del Angel took second in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:12.79. Del Angel also placed third in the 50 Free with a time of 24.80.
- Bella Howell earned second in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 157.15. Howell also placed second in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 191.60.
- Kate McCown took second in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:55.12.
- The 400 Free Relay squad of Russo, Henderson, McCown, and Phelps placed second in the event with a time of 3:40.74.
- Emma Ballantyne placed third in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:31.61.
- Elise Henderson finished third in the 200 Free with a time of 1:58.54, just over a second out of second place. Henderson also placed third in the 500 Free with a time of 5:19.08.
- Erin Russo took third in the 100 Free with a time of 54.25.
- The 400 Medley Relay squad of Abigail McMahon, Torrie Weems, Tiffany Nordstrom, and Erin Russo placed third in the event with a time of 4:15.68.
The Tigersharks won a close one, totaling 117 points to TSU's 112 for Ouachita's third dual meet win of the season.
This meet was a homecoming for Truman State's head coach Jacob Ragsdell. Ragsdell swam for the Tigersharks from 2018-2021 and is the brother to current Tigershark Sam Ragsdell and Ouachita swim alum Joe Ragsdell.
To give credit where credit is due, Ragsdell's Bulldogs set three Waggoner Pool records on Saturday, setting new records in the 1000 Free, 500 Free and the 400 Free Relay.
The Tigersharks have some time off but will look to keep up the success in the new year as they take on the University of Montevallo on Saturday, January 13 at 10 a.m. in Waggoner Pool.
