WEATHER FORCES WEEKEND CHANGES

ARKADELPHIA – Due to inclement weather, changes have been made to this week and weekend's schedule of events for Ouachita Baptist University's basketball, baseball, and softball teams.

BASKETBALL
The men's and women's basketball home games have been pushed back a day to accommodate safe travels for Ouachita's opponents, Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. The games against OKBU will now be played on Friday, February 3 with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m. The games against SNU will now be played on Sunday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.

BASEBALL
Ouachita baseball is opening the 2023 season this weekend in the Mike Dugan Collegiate Baseball Invitational, co-hosted by Hot Springs' Majestic Park, Ouachita, and Henderson State. The Tigers were originally scheduled to open the season on Thursday morning at Majestic Park, but that game against Rogers State has been rescheduled to this Sunday, February 5 at 1 p.m. and will now be played at Rab Rodgers Field on the Ouachita campus. The Tigers will play their Friday and Saturday games as previously scheduled – Friday at 1 p.m. against Washburn at Majestic Park and Saturday at 1 p.m. against Arkansas-Fort Smith at home at Rab Rogers Field.

SOFTBALL
Ouachita softball is also opening the 2023 season this weekend, co-hosting the Ronnie Hawkins/Mike McGhee Memorial Invitational with Henderson State. To allow an extra day of field preparation for Ouachita's Sully Anderson Field, the Tigers will now play their season-opening game on Friday across the street at HSU's Dee White Field, which features an artificial surface. Ouachita will take on Christian Brothers on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The game against Lincoln has been canceled. Saturday's schedule has not been changed with the Tigers taking on Northeastern State at noon at Sully Anderson Field, followed by Missouri Southern at 2:30 p.m.

The Tiger men's and women's tennis teams are also opening their respective spring seasons this weekend. With both teams playing at indoor facilities, those schedules have remained unchanged.
