ARKADELPHIA – The 14th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men's tennis team opened the 2022-23 spring portion of the schedule on Friday night at home inside the Ward Tennis Center with a 7-0 win over Delta State University.
The Tigers (1-0) started with a hard-fought win for the doubles point with
Phil Exner and
Alex Blanchar, the nation's 23rd-ranked doubles team taking DSU's Jude Heraut and Franco Roldan into extra points and coming away with a 7-5 advantage in the tiebreaker.
Fernando Docters and
Aaron Osmond made quick work of their second position opposition with a 6-2 win.
Exner highlighted the singles matchups, taking down DSU's Emiliano Elazarraz, who entered the night ranked 22nd nationally in singles. Docters and Osmond each earned comfortable wins, while Blanchar and
Matias Parzajuk needed tiebreakers to determine a winner.
Ouachita is back in action on Saturday at home against Southwest Baptist starting at 5 p.m.
