TOPEKA, Kansas – The 24th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men's tennis team wrapped up the 2023 season on Saturday with a 4-1 loss to 18th-ranked Washburn University in the regional round of the NCAA tournament.

The Tigers end the season with an overall record of 12-11 after earning the program's 20th NCAA tournament appearance. Washburn improves to 17-7 and advances to the NCAA National Round of 16.

Saturday's match between the Tigers and Ichabods started with three close doubles matches with Ouachita taking first position and Wasburn needing a tiebreaker to win second position. The Ichabods needed an extra set in third position to earn the doubles point.

The tight competition carried over into singles with five of the six matchups going into a third set. Fernando Docters earned Ouachita's point with a three-set win in third position.
