ARKADELPHIA -- The Ouachita men's soccer team opened Great American Conference play on Thursday with a 2-0 loss to Harding at home.
Both teams battled to scoreless first half, and it stayed that way until the final 25 minutes. The Bisons (3-3-1, 1-0-0 GAC) found the net in the 68th minute and then added an exclamation goal in the 89th minute to record the win.
Harding held a 19-8 lead in total shots and an 8-4 lead in shots on goal.
Grant Isbell and
Ebon Jordan were the most active for the Tigers (0-6-1) with three shots each. Isbell had to shots on frame, which was the most by any Tiger.
Masaya Nitta recorded a new career-high with eight saves in his complete game in goal.
The Tigers are back in action next Thursday, September 28 at home against Fort Hays State. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Kluck Field.
