FORT WORTH, Texas – Ouachita Football seniors
Gabe Goodman and
Joe Couch have accepted invitations to display their skills at the 2024 College Gridiron Showcase.
Couch and Goodman have been staples of the Ouachita specialists unit over the past several seasons.
Goodman, a four-year starter for the Tigers has played in 43 games for Ouachita since 2019, and handled field goals, extra points, and kickoffs during his career. The Arkadelphia Native is a four-time All-Great American Conference honoree and currently holds the school records for longest field goal at 55 yards and most extra points made in a season with 55. Goodman made 98 percent of his career extra point attempts, going 186-for-189 over his four years as a Tiger.
Couch, a three-year starter has handled punting duties since 2021. In his first year with Ouachita, Couch averaged a school record 47.5 yards per punt. All three of Couch's seasons rank in the top 10 all-time for punting average for Ouachita, with his longest punt coming in at 63 yards during the 2023 season. Out of Couch's 76 career punts, 26 of them have been for 50 or more yards and 30 have been downed inside the 20-yard line. The Torquay, Australia native has also handled all kick holding duties since 2022.
Both specialists played big roles for the Tigers throughout their careers and the College Gridiron Showcase gives the two a chance to look at taking their skills to the next level.
The College Gridiron Showcase began in 2015 and participants get the chance to demonstrate their skills in front of scouts from the NFL, CFL, XFL, and other professional leagues. Last season, two Tigers, TJ Cole and Hunter Swoboda, also attended the showcase event in Texas.
