ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's soccer team dropped a home conference game to Fort Hays State on Thursday by a final score of 3-1.
The black and gold Tigers (5-3-1, 2-2 GAC/MIAA) started their offensive attack with a goal in the seventh minute to take an early lead.
Ouachita (2-7-1, 0-4 GAC/MIAA) equalized in the 40th minute on the team's only shot on goal during the game, which was a direct corner kick goal from
Alexis Murillo. It was his fourth goal of the season and third direct corner score.
In the 52 minute, FHSU was credited with a go-ahead goal following a discussion between the officials that concluded a deflected Ouachita pass went into the goal before the purple Tigers could clear it.
FHSU added a cushion goal in the 86th minute. The black and gold Tigers totaled 41 shots and 14 shots on goal. Ouachita's
Dillon Staal matched a career-high with 12 saves.
Ouachita is back in action this Saturday at home against Newman. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
