KIRKSVILLE, Missouri – The Ouachita women's swimming and diving team fell to Truman State University 115-51 Friday night on day one of the two-day meet.
Two Tigersharks picked up two event wins in the first of two meets in Missouri.
Keilee Holcomb won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.86. Holcomb also placed third in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 58.59, less than two seconds out of first.
Anna Phelps won the 200 Butterfly by almost three seconds with a time of 2:06.05. Phelps also placed fifth in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:56.92.
Other top finishing Tigersharks were:
Sophie Derby placed second in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.78.
The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Del Angel, Holcomb, Derby, and Andruss placed second in the event with a time of 1:37.32, less than two seconds out of first.
Britta Andruss placed third in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.11. Andruss also finished third in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:57.06.
Rachel Del Angel placed third in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:14.38.
The 400 Medley Relay squad of
Jameson Tankersley,
Kasie Lopez, Del Angel, and
Linzay Taylor took third with a time of 4:03.90.
In total, Ouachita recorded 19 top five finishes across the nine events to score 51 points in the loss.
The Tigersharks will look to strike back against the Bulldogs tomorrow, October 26 on day two of the two-day meet. Saturday's meet is set to start at 10 a.m.
