ARKADELPHIA – In a battle of the two first-place teams in the Great American Conference, neither squad budged resulting in a scoreless draw between Ouachita and Southern Nazarene on Saturday at Kluck Field.
Ouachita (5-6-3, 4-2-3 GAC) finished the game with a 16-12 edge in total shots including a 5-2 lead in shots on goal. Both squads had three corner kicks.
SNU (6-4-4, 4-2-3 GAC) had more chances in the first half with seven shots to Ouachita's four. However, the Tigers flipped the script in the second half as the aggressors with 12 shots.
Carina Chavarria played the full 90 minutes in goal and ended with two saves in her second career shutout.
The draw keeps the Tigers and Crimson Storm tied atop the GAC standings with a one-point lead and three games remaining in the regular season.
