WEATHERFORD, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's soccer team opened its trip to the western half of the Sooner State with a 2-1 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday.
SWOSU (5-7-3, 3-4-2 GAC) took an early lead with a goal in the 12th minute and held that 1-0 advantage throughout the rest of the half.
Both second half goals came within two minutes of each other.
The Tigers (5-7-3, 4-3-3 GAC) equalized in the 53rd minute with a goal from Abbey Moore off a deflected corner kick from Hattie Gardner. It was Moore's first goal of the season and third of her career.
The Bulldogs scored what ended up being the game-winner in the 55th minute.
SWOSU finished with a 21-13 lead in total shots and an 8-5 lead in shots on goal. Ouachita led 8-3 in corner kicks.
Ouachita heads north to Alva to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday for the team's final road game of the regular season.
