ARKADELPHIA – There is now just one team in first place in the Great American Conference women's soccer standings after Ouachita defeated Oklahoma Baptist 2-1 on Saturday at Kluck Field.
The Tigers (4-4-1, 3-0-1 GAC) erased a 1-0 deficit with both goals coming in the final 25 minutes.
After controlling most of the first half with an 8-2 lead in total shots and a 6-0 margin in shots on frame in the first 45 minutes, the Bison (3-4-2, 2-1-1 GAC) broke up the stalemate with a goal in the 65th minute following a short corner.
Ouachita responded two minutes later with the equalizer goal by
McKenna Wright set up by a forward lob pass from
Isabella Savattere. It was Wright's second goal of the season and Savattere's second assist of the year.
The game-winner came in the 85th minute on a hard right footed goal from
Allison Reece after a perfectly-placed cross from
Reese Brown driving down the right side of the field near the endline. It was Reece's second goal of the year and Brown's first assist of the year and second of her career.
Ouachita's two goals were the only two shots on target for the Tigers in the win. The Bison ended up leading 17-6 in total shots and 9-2 in shots on frame.

Carina Chavarria earned the complete-game win and set a new career-high with eight saves.
Ouachita hits the road this Saturday, October 12 to take on Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Bethany, Oklahoma.
