ARKADELPHIA – The ninth-ranked Ouachita Baptist University football has more than just bragging rights on the line when it walks across Highway 67 this Saturday, November 16 to face off against Henderson State University in the 97th Battle of the Ravine.
Saturday's kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at HSU's Carpenter-Haygood Stadium. The game can be heard on the Ouachita Football Radio Network originating at KARN-FM 102.9 in Little Rock and available on 10 different stations throughout the state of Arkansas. A win for the Tigers on Saturday would give Ouachita its fifth season in program history of at least 10 wins, at least a share of the 2024 Great American Conference championship, and a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs in addition to bragging rights for at least a year in Arkadelphia.
Ouachita is 9-1 heading into Saturday's game following a 55-0 road victory over Oklahoma Baptist. HSU is 8-2 after beating Southwestern Oklahoma State at home last Saturday by a score of 35-17.
The Tigers lead the all-time Battle of the Ravine series 46-44-6. Ouachita has won seven of the last 10 meetings, including a six-year win streak from 2016-2022. The Reddies beat the Tigers 31-27 in last year's meeting at Cliff Harris Stadium.
