INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team is back in the NCAA tournament for the second straight season, this time as the No. 8 seed in the Warrensburg, Missouri regional.
The Tigers will take on the host of the regional and the No. 1 seed in the bracket, Central Missouri, this Friday, November 22 at 3 p.m. in Warrensburg.
Ouachita earned an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament by winning the 2024 Great American Conference Championship Tournament this past weekend at home at Kluck Field in Arkadelphia. The Tigers also won the league's regular season championship and enter the NCAA tournament with a record of 8-7-4.
In the GAC tournament, the Tigers opened with a 3-2 double-overtime victory over Southern Nazarene before needing a penalty kick shootout to determine a victor in the finals against Oklahoma Baptist. Ouachita won the PK shootout 4-3 after a scoreless stalemate in 110 minutes of regulation and overtimes.
The NCAA tournament appearance this year is the second straight for the Tigers and third overall in program history.
Central Missouri is coming off a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association tournament championship, sweeping through the bracket with wins over Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western, and Central Oklahoma. The Jennies enter the tournament at 15-4-2 overall.
