ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita women's basketball wrapped up the 2024 portion of the schedule with a 93-85 exhibition victory over Williams Baptist on Tuesday afternoon at home.
Tuesday's win was also Ouachita's final non-conference game of the year with 17 Great American Conference contests coming up in 2025.
11 of the 12 active Tiger players had at least 12 minutes of playing time in Tuesday's win over the Eagles with six reaching double-digits in the points category.
Abbey Harrison led the way with 18 points in 18 minutes, and added four rebounds and four blocked shots.
Kayden Porter came off the bench to score 16 points and grab six rebounds.
Laney Mears and
Madeleine Tipton each had 14 points.
Audri Winfrey recorded a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while also leading the team in assists with four.
Joey Babel added 10 points.
Ouachita shot just under 51 percent for the game from the field (38-for-75) and right at 50 percent on three-pointers (9-for-18). WBU finished at 41 percent overall (26-for-63) and 44 percent on threes (12-for-27).
The biggest difference in the game was a 19-0 run for the Tigers in just over four minutes of the second quarter, which resulted in Ouachita's largest lead of the game at 55-25 on a three-pointer from Mears at the 3:26 mark. WBU rallied back to outscore the Tigers in both the third and fourth periods, but that second-period run allowed Ouachita to lead by at least 11 points for the entire second half.
The Tigers open the 2025 portion of the schedule this Saturday, January 4 at home against Arkansas Tech. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Vining Arena.
